AO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud” Participated in the National Dialogue on Social Cohesion and Community Resilience

On March 12-13, 2026, AO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud” participated in the national dialogue “Security Starts in Communities: A BREN II National Dialogue on Social Cohesion and Resilience”, organized within the BREN II programme.

Security begins in communities, where trust, social cohesion and the capacity to respond collectively to risks are built. Over the course of two days, participants, together with representatives of civil society and public institutions, explored practical solutions for strengthening resilience at the local level, ranging from preventing tensions and supporting vulnerable groups to promoting responsible public communication and reducing the impact of disinformation.

Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation

A significant focus of the dialogue was placed on strategic communication and on how messages related to safety, equality and public trust can remain clear, credible and consistent, even during periods marked by waves of disinformation.

Participants discussed common institutional vulnerabilities and identified practical recommendations, including:

• increasing institutional transparency;
• ensuring rapid and coordinated media responses;
• training local and regional teams;
• planning proactive communication campaigns.

For AO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud”, these exchanges of experience are highly valuable because they directly complement the work carried out within communities. Local solutions are more effective when supported by cooperation, clear rules and responsible public communication.
