Minister of Internal Affairs Visits Cahul Police Inspectorate and Learns About the Smart Community Safety Project

During a working visit to Cahul District, Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin visited the Cahul Police Inspectorate, where priorities related to strengthening community safety, crime prevention and local cooperation were discussed.

During the visit, the project “Safer Communities through Smart Systems and Transregional Cooperation”, implemented by AO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud”, was presented. The project promotes an integrated model for enhancing public safety based on technology, capacity building and institutional coordination.

Stella Bădin, architect of the smart security model, presented the project objectives and facilitated a demonstration at the Cahul Police Inspectorate Dispatch Center. The presentation highlighted the operation of the Smart Video Service and the importance of integrating an artificial intelligence alert and video analytics module for the early identification of risk scenarios and support of prevention-oriented interventions.

In Cahul Municipality, the project aims to integrate an Alert System into the Smart Video Service, with the objective of reducing authorities’ response time by at least 30 percent. In Comrat Municipality, the initiative focuses on preparing the replication of the model through the development of the necessary technical documentation.

The initiative is complemented by training activities and legal expertise for the development of draft operational regulations, ensuring the ethical and effective use of the system in line with the “Do No Harm” principle.
