Young people from Cahul participated in training sessions on involvement in local and national decision-making processes
On April 2 and 6, 2026, the NGO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud” organized two training sessions in Cahul dedicated to young people, focused on the topics “Involvement in Local Decision-Making Processes” and “Involvement in National Decision-Making Processes”.
Participants had the opportunity to better understand how decisions are made at both local and national levels, as well as the role they can play in these processes.
The first session focused on the local decision-making process, where young participants explored how decisions are adopted within the community, who the key actors are, and what mechanisms citizens can use to contribute.
The second session addressed the national decision-making process, providing insight into central institutions, the stages of public policy development, and opportunities for civic engagement at the national level.
Through interactive exercises, simulations, and teamwork, participants developed practical skills in analysis, argumentation, and proposal development, gaining a better understanding of how ideas can be transformed into concrete initiatives.
These activities contribute to the development of a generation of informed and engaged young people capable of actively participating in decision-making processes.
The activities are carried out within the project “PARTENER – Young People from Cahul and Leova for Participation, Responsibility and Cooperation in Local Governance”, implemented by the NGO “Pas cu Pas regiunea Sud” under the grant program “Empowerment of Women and Youth”.
We thank all participants and local partners, the Cahul Municipality City Hall and the Cahul Municipal Youth Center, for their involvement and support.
This project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by Sweden. The project is implemented by the East Europe Foundation in partnership with the National Youth Council of Moldova, the Partnership for Development Center, and the Regional Development Agency from Tiraspol.
